Good graphic design is an important financial
investment for any business. I've had several times
where new people come to me with a low resolution
jpeg off of a website of a logo or photo and want use
them for offset printing. They also have no way they
can get the original files from the previous graphic
designer. Use of the low resolution jpeg will not give a
good result with the offset printing. Reluctantly, I have
to rebuild the logo in a high resolution format and I
have to charge them for the work.
I highly recommend that you keep an archive of your
logos, stationary, ads, flyers and printed materials.
Ask for a copy of the files on a CD and keep those CDs
in a safe place. Ask for the native files, support files,
photos and fonts. Sometimes graphic designers don't
work out, go out of business, move away, misplace the
files or lose their hard drives. Protect your investment
and keep the files on a CD (not your computer).

| Graphic Makeovers |
 |
Makeovers are really popular these days. You may
want to consider a "graphic makeover" for your horse
business. When you are training and selling top
quality horses, the graphics that represent your
business need to be sharp, professional and used
consistently. Can this be effective? We designed a
branding package of a logo, stallion ad and website for
a small paint horse breeding ranch in Colorado. They
were amazed at the results and I quote, "We sold
more horses in 2 weeks than we had in 10 years."
