  • An Internet Advertising Strategy
    .
I'm impressed by how many people I've talked to lately who found the horse they recently purchased via the internet...particularly major horses for sale websites. From my observations DreamHorse.com and Equine.com are solid sites. It is a very inexpensive but very effective way of advertising.

We recently ran a classified ad with a photo on Dream Horse for a horse we needed to sell. I was amazed at the response we got. There were 12 serious inquiries in 2 days. We did put up a very nice photo of the horse and he was well priced. We also got inquiries as to if we had any other horses available.

I would recommend regularly running an ad for just one of your sale horses (make sure you use a photo and it's a good one) and putting your website address (URL) in the text of the ad. If people browsing like what they see, they may follow up and visit your website where they can see all of your sale horses.

Another use of these horses for sale websites is the advertising of stallions. For the exposure that you can get online, the price of advertising is a bargain. Again, putting your website information into the classified ad about your stallion can drive people to your website. This gives them the opportunity to see what he produces and what horses you have for available.

Horse Awards Making A Difference In Devastated Areas of Florida
    .
On a more somber note, Hurricane Charley left horses devastated in Central & South Florida. The conditions are heart breaking and it appears that more bad weather is coming. Horses lost their homes, have no food, have no water, are injured and surrounded by flies and other insects. Many are tied to trees with no home or anywhere else to go.

I talked to the staff at Horse Awards and they said it would be a long time before these people can get on their feet again. Horse awards has sent 600 bags of shavings, 400 bales of hay, and 8 tons of horse and cow feed to those in desperate need. They described to me how some people are living under tarps and bathing in rain water they collect. Please pass this on to your friends. Horse Awards is doing a temendous job. They are accepting pledges at 904-272-5472.

This painting is called "Grooming Partners." It's one of my smaller pieces (14"x11") but one of my favorites. It's available framed or unframed. If you would be interested in purchasing an orginal painting or a limited edition fine art print of this and other work that I have done, just click the link below.
